Meet The Tropic of Conversation. Because every fabulous room needs something worth talking about.
Somewhere beyond the palms, in a house that has seen more than its share of interesting guests, he holds court.
Lounging against a rich lacquer-red field, our rather magnificent resident appears perfectly at home among weathered zebra stripes, hand-painted chocolate detailing and the sort of collected tropical eccentricity that suggests this room was decorated over generations, not ordered from a catalog.
And then there’s that gesture.
Is he welcoming you in? Offering an opinion? Signaling for another round? We couldn’t possibly say. But with that knowing expression and casually raised hand, he seems to have heard every story told in the room and may be responsible for a few of them.
Rendered in our signature weathered watercolor style, The Tropic of Conversation layers warm ivory, tobacco brown, deep crimson and sun-faded neutrals into a design that feels equal parts grand tropical estate, old-world resort and wonderfully eccentric drawing room.
Bold enough to command attention yet beautifully balanced for play, this is one guest who has no intention of fading politely into the background.
