Apparently, It Was Someone’s First Day
This beautiful peacock mat earned her place in Perfectly Imperfect thanks to a few production surprises we definitely did not order.
There are three visible printing errors, each appearing along a different edge of the mat. You’ll see small blue printed marks in three separate locations along three sides. We’ve photographed each one closely so you can see exactly what you’re purchasing.
And then there’s “Laura.”
The artist’s name somehow made its way onto the finished mat as part of the print -- another little detail that was most certainly not included in the production instructions.
We can only presume it was someone’s first day. 😂
Aside from these printing mishaps, the mat features a beautifully understated ivory field, elegant navy and cobalt peacocks, and classic double-line borders. The printing errors do not prevent the mat from being used and enjoyed for mahjong play.

Sometimes perfection is overrated anyway.
